Anxiety Therapy in Minneapolis / Saint Paul and across Minnesota

Are you ready to ease your anxiety and quiet your thoughts?
Anxiety is a common human experience and yet it can look different on everyone.
Maybe you….
Are constantly second guessing yourself.
Find it difficult to make the simplest of decisions and when you finally do you, beat yourself up that it was the wrong one.
Become easily annoyed and irritable at the smallest things.
Put everyone’s wants and needs before your own.
Catastrophize, obsess, ruminate, and worry about the past. present, and future.
Do you often second-guess yourself, even with small decisions? And when you finally choose, your harsh inner critic tells you it was wrong? Your mind continues to race, and you can’t get a break from your thoughts.
Your relationships suffer because you feel insecure and need control, leading to annoyance and irritability. You argue and push people away. You doubt yourself and overthink what others say or do, always wondering about hidden motives. This leaves you feeling lonely and afraid that people will abandon you.
At work you struggle to focus and sometimes feel overwhelmed. You often doubt yourself and have trouble trusting others. You create stories in your mind about what they say and do. You feel self-conscious, misunderstood, and alone, as if it's you against everyone. You hesitate to share your feelings with anyone because you worry they might think you're paranoid or irrational.
Sleep escapes you and you’re exhausted. You wish you could take better care of yourself but you don’t have the energy or motivation to do anything. Maybe you turn to food or substances to cope because it is the only way you know how to calm yourself.

Everyone experiences stress and a certain degree of worry and overwhelm. However, when these things start to negatively impact your day to day life, relationships, or even work it would be important to talk to a professional to get more clarification on what you are experiencing.
Anxiety can look different for everyone; you may feel constant dread or worry, ruminating or obsessing about everything, feeling overwhelmed by life and that nothing is in your control. You may experience physical symptoms like racing heart, butterflies in your stomach, trouble sleeping, or panic attacks.
No matter how anxiety is showing up in your life, anxiety therapy can help you get to the root causes so you can get back to living the life you want.

Medication is not a requirement for anxiety therapy. Medication is a personal decision that you will always have a choice around. It can be helpful and based on my clinical judgment may make a recommendation for a medication evaluation. But again this will be something that you decide for yourself.
Medication is also not a solution for anxiety but can be used in conjunction with anxiety therapy.
